What happened when Microsoft tried to make a space simulator? A mess. When published, Allegiance got many good reviews and a loyal playerbase, but it had one problem. It had REALLy high learning curve, wich made it allmost impossible for the newbies. Allegiance didn't sell well so Microsoft stopped developing it and published it under shared source license and it has now been developed by volunteers. Tough the game is now free, the ammount of players haven't been increasing. It's sad because this is one of the best space simulators ever. Server could handle 200 players but only about 20 is playing. Even with a small group this game is fun. It has hughe mass battles, realistic space simulation and good - but old - graphics. Lots of ship types and good teamworking. That's not even all. Allegiance is also a RTS game. Experienced players can take control and lead other players from a tactical RTS interface. This is just one game in the list of those games wich never succeeded.game name: Allegiance
